My career started in Colorado in 1995. I was originally a hospital nurse in a medical oncology unit before moving to home care and then long-term care.
I love long-term care because I enjoy caring for the elderly. I find them to be a treasure chest of knowledge and information. I embrace working with joy everyday and encourage others to do so as well.
At this point in my career, I feel like I have made the transition to caring for the generation that cared for the people.
I enjoy developing relationships with my team members so I can inspire them to be better and reach their goals, thereby increasing the quality of care provided to our residents.
I would highly encourage anyone who is seeking a challenging and rewarding career to look for employment in long-term care.
