Kipp Roberts, Director of Rehabilitation at Ruleme Center, works hard to facilitate a creative and positive environment for staff and patients
Kipp Roberts’ life changed in high school when her father’s injury helped her appreciate the healthcare professionals who made a positive impact on her father’s life. Those early experiences at her father’s bedside led Kipp to realize that she had a passion for caregiving. Years later, when Kipp needed a change, she knew that Occupational Therapy was the career she wanted to pursue.
In 2006, Kipp began working in skilled nursing and quickly realized this setting was where her heart was. She loves providing direct, hands-on care to her patients and hearing their personal stories. Kip believes that communication must play a key role in the therapy services that patients receive. It’s important to her that all members of the interdisciplinary team are engaged with the patients and their families, so they have a clear understanding of the care and goals for rehabilitation and recovery.
Today, Kipp is the Director of Rehabilitation at Ruleme Center where she oversees the center’s rehabilitation team. She works hard to facilitate a creative and positive environment for staff and patients alike and recognizes the importance of patients playing an active role in their rehabilitative goals. “Nothing feels more rewarding than watching your team celebrate whenever one of their patients makes a huge step forward or overcomes a substantial barrier,” Kipp shared.
Kipp also takes time to regularly meet with students who are pursuing the field of therapy, sharing with them her passion and desire to make a difference. “The personal joy that comes with growing their enthusiasm and clinical skills, and delighting in their happiness when their patient progresses, ensures that future patients will have their best outcome as my father did,” Kipp said.
In 2024, Kipp was recognized as Aston Health’s Director of Rehabilitation of the Year. When Kipp was asked what she loves about her career choice, she shared that she cannot imagine a career she would recommend more. “It is still just as memorable and rewarding as the day I started.”
