Meet Jessica Newberry, Director of Rehabilitation at Riverwood Center
As a young adult, Jessica Newberry began volunteering in nursing centers, where she worked closely with their activities departments. She helped with leading exercises, playing games, and providing meaningful companionship to residents who eagerly looked forward to her visits. These experiences inspired Jessica to pursue a career in physical therapy. During her clinical internships, Jessica quickly realized that the geriatric community is significantly underserved, despite the fulfillment and humility that comes from working with this population.
As a physical therapist for over 8 years and Director of Rehabilitation at Riverwood Center for more than 3 years, Jessica feels honored to be able to help individuals in their most vulnerable moments. Through creative and individualized treatment plans, Jessica sees firsthand how her patients grow stronger, healthier, and more confident.
Jessica’s goal is to continue expanding her expertise within the therapy community while providing support to a team of clinicians who share her commitment to helping others. “I am proud to be part of a collaborative team that thrives on discussing diverse treatment approaches to ensure our residents receive the highest level of care,” she said.
Jessica encourages those looking for a career that offers meaning and purpose to consider long term care. “Working in long term care allows me to tap into my creativity, engage with diverse populations, and contribute to multiple facets of the healthcare system,” she shared.
