Jaylyne Roman is a Social Services Assistant at Avante at Jacksonville Beach, beginning her career journey just over a year ago. Seeing the advocacy needs of her grandmother during her long term care experience is what inspired Jaylyne to choose social services as a career path. Her goal in this field is to be an advocate for residents and families and help ensure their voices are heard.
What Jaylyne loves most about her role is bringing comfort and support to residents. “Many elderly individuals do not always have family or someone to talk to daily. “Taking the time to listen, encourage residents, or even give a simple compliment can help restore their confidence and hope,” says Jaylyne. She also values the bonds she builds with both residents and their families through communication so they feel supported in the care they are receiving.
