From CNA to Environmental Services Director, this long term caregiver is making a positive impact every day.
Elaine Irvin has worked in long term care for more than 45 years. She began her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant because she loves helping people. That role expanded as a result of her willingness to learn new skills and be an important part of enhancing residents’ quality of life. To Elaine, it was more than just handling the center’s housekeeping and laundry; she was giving each resident a positive experience. “These are our residents’ homes, and we take care of their needs the same as we’d do for ourselves,” Elaine said.
Today, Elaine is the Environmental Services Director at Dolphin Pointe Health Care Center in Jacksonville, where she supervises the team that maintains the centers’ housekeeping and laundry services. She also manages the center’s supplies to ensure a clean and safe environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Her attention to detail and leadership skills have earned Dolphin Pointe numerous customer service awards.
Elaine recognizes that the role she plays is challenging, but she loves her residents and her team. “We’re all here for the same purpose, and that makes it rewarding” Elaine said.
