Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) recently awarded Jana Davis, Business Office Manager with Palm Garden of Clearwater, with a Career Climb Scholarship. For the past several years, Jana Davis has delivered exceptional performance at the Clearwater Care Center. For Jana, working in long term care was an opportunity for a new start. She was able to find a profession that she was genuinely passionate about and could whole-heartedly enjoy. As a Business Office Manager, Jana interacts with residents and assures the administrative side of the center is running smoothly. She realized she wanted to be able to do more for her residents and impact their day-to-day experiences positively. To do so, Jana has short- and long-term goals of furthering her education and becoming a Health Care Administrator.
Jana shares, “this would allow me to facilitate the entire building and ensure that the care that my residents are receiving is top-notch and what they deserve in their senior years.” She hopes to manage a skilled nursing center and eventually work in regional management to guide other specialists who are also passionate about improving the lives of our seniors.
Sandra Hill, Executive Director of Palm Garden of Clearwater, stated, “Jana exemplifies our values with her integrity, commitment, and compassion to assist our residents and families with the Medicaid process and guidance through the multiple facets of insurances.”
The Career Climb Scholarship was founded through an initial grant from the Life Care Centers of America with ongoing support from the annual FHCA Golf Tournament. These scholarships are awarded three times per year and encourage progression in non-nursing long term care careers for selected member nursing center and assisted living facility employees.
The next deadline to apply for the Career Climb Scholarship is November 30, 2019. Click here to learn more about educational scholarship opportunities and to access the application form.
