Seven FHCA member centers have been recognized as a 2021 Silver – Achievement in Quality Award recipient by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). The award is the second of three distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, which spotlights providers across the nation that have demonstrated their dedication to improving quality of care for residents and individuals with disabilities in long term and post-acute care.
The following centers achieved Silver Award status:
- Avante at Inverness
- Clearwater Center
- Heartland Health Care & Rehabilitation Center of Boca Raton
- North Lake Care Center, Lake Park
- Ocala Health and Rehabilitation Center
- South Heritage Health & Rehabilitation Center, St. Petersburg
- Southern Oaks Care Center, Pensacola
“Reaching the Silver Award level successfully while also compassionately and heroically protecting and caring for residents during a pandemic is remarkable,” said Emmett Reed, FHCA Chief Executive Officer. “We applaud the resiliency and dedication of these care centers for continuing their quality improvement journey and for this outstanding achievement.”
Created by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is a rigorous three-level process that is reviewed and judged by trained experts against a set of nationally recognized standards for organizational excellence. The standards of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program help organizations achieve superior performance to improve quality of life and care of long term care residents and staff. At the Silver level, members develop and demonstrate effective approaches that help improve organizational performance and health care outcomes.
As 2021 recipients of the Silver award, these care centers can now advance in further developing comprehensive approaches that meet the criteria required for the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award.
These and all of FHCA members centers earning a National Quality Award will be recognized during FHCA’s 2021 Annual Conference & Trade Show on July 27 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Orlando, with the official award presentation to take place at the AHCA/NCAL 72nd Convention & Expo in National Harbor, Maryland from October 10-13, 2021..
