Kelsey Cobasky, Senior Executive Director of Savannah Court and Cove of Maitland Senior Living, was honored last week as the 2021 Assisted Living Facility Administrator of the Year by the Florida Health Care Association (FHCA). The award, presented in front of more than 600 long term care professionals during FHCA’s 2021 Annual Conference in Orlando, is the highest honor given to an assisted living facility administrator in Florida’s long term care profession.
“FHCA is proud to honor Kelsey, not only for her continuous commitment to excellence and high-quality care, but also for her dedication to raising awareness about the long term care profession and the opportunities it offers for those looking to grow their careers,” said Emmett Reed, Florida Health Care Association Chief Executive Officer.
Cobasky has worked in senior living management for seven years and has always focused on building a culture around supporting residents’ physical, medical, social and emotional needs. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Cobasky’s quick response and commitment to excellence helped the facility operationalize infection control practices, manage their personal protective equipment (PPE) usage effectively and save the lives of both residents and staff. At the same time, she found innovative ways to accommodate residents’ socialization needs with safe social distancing protocols. When the COVID-19 vaccine became available, Cobasky worked hard to promote the importance of getting the shot among residents and staff, and the result is a 98% vaccination rate at the facility.
“Kelsey is known for her unending commitment to her residents and her ability to operate with grace under pressure,” said Heidi Kuchenbacker, Senior Living Management Director of Operations. “She is an extraordinary leader, and we are thrilled that she received this well-deserved recognition.”
The 2021 Assisted Living Facility Administrator of the Year award is part of Florida Health Care Association’s Long Term Care Achievement Awards which were presented during FHCA’s Annual Conference, July 25-29, at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando.
