Florida Health Care Association (FHCA) recently awarded Stephanie Muscati, Assistant Business Office Manager at Life Care Center of Sarasota, with a Career Climb Scholarship. Stephanie Muscati is known for always going above and beyond at Life Care Center, working diligently and providing excellent and consistent attention to residents at the Sarasota center. Stephanie began working at an assisted living facility at the age of 17 and has remained committed to the long term care profession. She worked her way from Dining Services Supervisor to Business Office Assistant, and later Business Office Manager. As a Business Office Manager, Stephanie developed her passion and interest in Geriatric Healthcare and Operations. From there, she continued to make that her focus as she advanced through her career and education. She works full-time at Life Care Center and is a full-time student, as well. Stephanie is working toward her degree in Health Services Administration, with a future goal of earning a degree in Social Work. She hopes to become a Nursing Home Administrator and, eventually, the Director of Operations at a multi-facility organization.
Stephanie shares, “The growth opportunity is exponential with this career path, and personally, this career would allow me to influence more lives, inspire others like my mentors have done for me, and allow me to build a family and gain even more stability.” She states that she enjoys her job and looks at every day as an opportunity to learn and experience different situations that would help her become a more effective and successful administrator.
Nina Willingham, Senior Executive Director of Life Care Center of Sarasota, says, “Stephanie is level-headed, thoughtful, insightful, curious, and exercises sound judgment in her decisions. She has an excellent rapport with the residents and families as well. She is a person of integrity and deserves every opportunity to advance her career.”
The Florida Health Care Association’s Career Climb Scholarship is awarded through the Florida Education and Development Foundation, the Association’s 501c3 organization. These scholarships are awarded three times per year and encourage progression in non-nursing long term care careers for selected member nursing center and assisted living facility employees.
The next deadline to apply for the Career Climb Scholarship is April 30, 2020. Click here to learn more FHCA’s educational scholarship opportunities and to access the application forms.
