Portrait Captures “Love and Unity” at Brynwood
Brynwood Health and Rehabilitation Center was awarded second place out of nearly 200 photos in Florida Health Care Association’s (FHCA) Long Term Care Photo Contest. The photo, “Angel Nurse,” received 667 votes on Facebook. The portrait depicts Ms. Ethel, resident at Brynwood, receiving extra hugs during the holiday season from her nurse. The photo exemplifies the special care and love given to residents at Brynwood; a five-star nursing center in Monticello known for its exceptional care.
The winning photo was taken by Tiwana Miller, who has been at Brynwood for five years, and works as Director of Life Enrichment. Miller is known for being an outstanding activity professional, earning the Activity Professional of the Year Award in 2018 from the Florida Health Care Activity Coordinators Association.
Rhod Fenelus, administrator of Brynwood, said, “[this] photo was aiming to capture the love and unity among staff and residents,” which resonated with hundreds of Facebook contest voters.
“Nurses make a significant impact on residents’ quality of life, and this photo is an excellent depiction of the compassionate care being delivered by these frontline caregivers every day,” said Emmett Reed, FHCA Executive Director.
Brynwood will be awarded $300 for staff and resident activities, and photographer Tiwana Miller will receive a $50 gift card for her accomplishment. The annual Long Term Care Photo contest provides FHCA member centers an opportunity to showcase the daily life, activities, and loving care between residents and staff.
The winning photos will be displayed during FHCA’s 2019 Annual Conference & Trade Show, August 4-8 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. Read more about this year’s Long Term Care Photo Contest, winners and view all the entries by clicking here.
